Every shopping bag gets an inside-out inspection. Freshly folded washing somehow belongs to them before you’ve even had a chance to put it away. The expensive toy? Nice try, human. The cardboard box will do just fine.
They’re curious, stubborn, affectionate, independent and completely convinced the house revolves around them.
Honestly… they’re usually right.
At Cataholics Kitty Shelter, we’ve been caring for rescue cats for more than 25 years, and if there’s one thing we’ve learned, it’s that no two cats are ever the same.
Some saunter over to say howsit the minute you walk through the door. Others like to keep you guessing for a while. Some settle in quickly. Others need a little more time before their curiosity gets the better of them.
We don’t rush them. We simply get to know them, care for them and help them find the right home.
Why? Because every cat deserves a safe place to land.

Just like cats, no two days are ever quite the same.
One kitten is meeting a potential new family or an adult cat has decided today feels like a good day to trust someone new. Somewhere else, a volunteer has accepted they’re going to be sitting in exactly the same spot for a while because there’s a feline asleep on their lap.
Those moments never get old.
Neither does watching a cat walk out the door with the family they’ve been waiting for.
That’s why we do what we do. And we think that’s a pretty special job to have.
